Kalane Assistant Program Officer The first NSS unit of 50 volunteers was started in the college campus in the year 2005. Recognizing the service rendered by our NSS volunteers, Sant Gadge Baba Amravati University has extended it up to 100 volunteers in 2014 and 150 in 2015. An annual camp is regularly organized and valuable knowledge like strategic leadership, Decision making, Teamwork, integrity, professionalism, caring, stewardship, Social Responsibility etc. are sowed during entire year & rural camp among the volunteers of NSS. The main objective of NSS is development of the personality of students through community service. At present NSS Unit, with 150 volunteers, is deeply involved in serving the community by educating rural masses in public health and pollution, traffic regulation and social issues which are crucial for the well-being of society. 24th September is celebrated as NSS day every year. On the same day different activities like plantation, blood group detection camp, Health camps, Eye checkup camp, etc. are organized. Regular Programs: Every volunteer of NSS have to contribute at least 120 hrs every year. Programs in Special Camp: Every volunteer has to contribute fully to a camp of 7 days at the village adopted by college. In this camp village cleaning, road construction, plantation, surveys, soaking pit construction, health checkup camp, and cultural programs are carried out.
